A Cheshire wind farm developer has threatened to sue the UK authorities over its plans to impose a ‘windfall tax’ on renewables corporations.
Group Windpower – which owns 1.5 GW of UK wind technology capability – has mentioned it can take authorized motion to dam the UK’s Electrical energy Generator Levy.
The short-term tax imposes a forty five per cent levy on “exceptional receipts” of greater than £10m generated by promoting wholseale electrical energy at common costs exceeding £75 per MWh.
