As travel restrictions have eased, hundreds of jobs have become available at Manchester Airport.
More than 550 roles are directly available with Manchester Airports Group (MAG) – which runs Manchester, East Midlands and Stansted airports – and range from security officers, customer service officers and car park staff to hospitality and lounge workers.
More than 1,000 further jobs are also available at companies operating at the three airports, including ground handlers, cleaning companies, shops and restaurants.
MAG’s third parties with jobs on offer at Manchester Airport include Jet2.com, Ryanair, Swissport, UK Border Force, Menzies, and ABM.

A virtual jobs fair to learn about many of these roles will take place on Tuesday 25 January via Microsoft Teams.
The relaxation of Covid restrictions – first implemented to help curb the Omicron variant – has delivered a boost to the travel sector, with consumer confidence rising and bookings surging in the days following the announcement.
The news has paved the way for the travel industry to recover strongly this year, especially ahead of the busy summer season.

Airport Security Officer
Part of the security team, this job entails hand searching cabin luggage and passengers, operating x-ray machine and body scanners and patrolling the airport terminals.
No prior security experience is required and full training will be given.
A permanent annualised hours contract is offered, meaning you’re paid for either 38 or 31 hours a week. However, at peak times you may be required to work additional hours or at quieter times you may be required to work less than 38 or 31 hours a week.
This does not affect your salary which is paid consistently at 38 or 31 hours per week despite the hours you may work.
You will need to be flexible to work on a 24/7 operation which will include night shifts, early mornings (starting from 03:00am at the earliest), weekends and bank holidays.
Shifts will vary in length between 4 and 12 hours so you can expect short-haul and long-haul shifts.

Join the first-class Escape Lounge and 1903 Lounge teams to meet and greet customers as they arrive.
Duties include making and serving drinks, providing assisted services guests such as fax, computer access and printing and helping to keep the Lounge organised and clean.
A solid background in hospitality and service sectors is required and you must be willing to work on a flexible basis.
The hours of operation for the Lounge are 03.30am to 9.30pm, seven days a week.
The contract is on a permanent basis, with 30 or 40 hours a week available.

The growing hospitality team is recruiting a kitchen assistant to help deliver world-class service to lounge guests.
Main responsibilities include ensuring the kitchen and all storage locations are kept clean, hygienic and adhere to all health and safety standards; taking receipt of all deliveries, making sure all items arrive and are correctly put away ensuring stock rotation and monitoring all waste disposal bins.
The ideal candidate is someone who has excellent communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Experience in a similar role is desirable.

Manchester Airport is hiring a landscaper to maintain its infrastructure, observing the best horticultural standards.
Responsibilities include maintaining the interior landscaping within the terminal buildings and various office units and ensuring all machinery used is in a safe condition, with any faults reported to the Landscape Supervisor.
It is essential that you have a professional qualification in Amenity Horticulture/Landscape Maintenance/Arboriculture, a minimum RHS level 2 or equivalent.
Pa1/Pa6 safe use of pesticide certification would be advantageous to the application and CS30 & CS31 chain saw units is desirable but not essential.
A full UK driving licence is required preferably with trailer towing experience.
Shifts are 40 hours a week, Mondays to Fridays with no weekend working.
From April to September, working hours are from 7am until 4.30pm, while from October to March the timings are 8am to 3.30pm.
