If no rain then it’s a desert.
In CA little rain resulted in so many forests being lost.
Rain cleans the air too – even in cities.
In the el yunque rainforest in PR it rains over 180 inches a year – it defines the nature of the forest – it is thus very DENSE forest. There i prefer little rain when hiking – else slippery trails are less safe. Heavy rain also results in flash floods.

PD. For photography fans – cloudy days, maybe after/before rains, are great because the light is more uniform. Digital cameras do not like big differences in light …Also wet surfaces will have brighter colors.
