Thanks. There are two possibilities for removing the pins. The easiest way is to use a bike chain tool (bike shop or sporting goods store). This tool will let you remove the pins without much effort. The cheapest way is to stack big washers with small holes, wrap tape around the washers to keep them together, and use a pin punch. I used a Diamond Back chain from Dick's Sporting Goods.
